Single wall tips are constructed from a single tube. Each tube is angle cut and welded to a press-formed expansion that allows connection to smaller tubing. The weld is smoothed, edges are dressed and the outside of the tip is polished to a mirror finish. The inside of the tip is shined for easy cleaning.

Once installed, single wall tips offer a more 'open' look. Although never confused with stock tips, the look is understated and low key. If simplicity is your style, consider single wall tips on your exhaust system.

Single wall construction has one benefit most consider major - price. Construction from a single tube of stainless steel keeps the final price well below our double wall tips. We don't consider these a 'cheap' option, just a different style that happens to cost less.

We currently build single wall tips in two sizes. Our 3" OD tips connect to 2.5" piping and are typically paired for use in our Mk3, Mk4, and Mk5 cat-back exhaust systems. Our 4" OD tip connects to 3" piping and is typically used on our Mk4 337/GLI cat-back exhaust systems.

Double wall tips are constructed from a pair of tubes. The smaller inner tube is press formed to meet an angle-cut outer tube. Fitment of these two tubes must be absolutely perfect in order to achieve the proper look. Precision tooling makes this possible and assures each tip fits like the last. After assembly, welds are smoothed, edges are dressed and tips move on to polishing. Inner features are highly polished, transitioning to a mirror polish on on the outer surfaces.

Double wall tips offer a more refined look. The simple addition of an angular transition gives these tips a look that stands out without attracting negative attention. If you're looking for an exhaust tip that stands out while blending in, our double wall tips are a natural fit.

Compared to our single wall tips, our double wall tips seem to be expensive. The cost is incredibly reasonable when double material and labor costs are considered. These are high-end exhaust tips built with painstaking precision.

The pictures to the left show the difference between our single and double wall tips. Note the angular face of the double wall tip vs. the open appearance of the single wall tip. The outside diameter and shape of the tips are the same. The inside appearance differs.

Throughout our site we use some terminology to define our exhaust systems and our tips. Here's some hints to help you while you're reading:

• SW = Single Wall - used to describe an exhaust tip style
• DW = Double Wall - used to describe an exhaust tip style
• Single Tip = One Exhaust Tip
• Dual Tip = (2) Exhaust Tips - typically paired side-by-side
• We never say "Double Tips"
