Bolt-On Horsepower and Torque
42 Draft Designs 3” downpipe is the single most effective bolt-on upgrade for the Audi TT 225. No other basic physical modification can compete with the power gains delivered by this fundamental upgrade. Simply by reducing backpressure we’re able to create usable horsepower and torque throughout the power band while also improving turbo spool and throttle response.
Fabricated here in the USA, our exclusive downpipe for the 1.8T engine installs without permanent modification. Precise pipe routing and a stainless steel flex section assure hassle-free fitment.
Street Series downpipes are equipped with a 200/cell high-flow catalytic converter. Race Series downpipes include only a test pipe for track day. Included adapter reduces pipe size to utilize the OEM band clamp.

Important Fitment Note
If your car is still equipped with OEM engine/transmission/dogbone mounts fitment issues may arise. As these vehicles age, OEM mounts tend to sag due to the weight of the engine and transmission hanging from the rubber mounts. This may cause the downpipe to make contact with the rear subframe. It is HIGHLY recommended that you replace your engine and transmission mounts to avoid fitment issues and potential rattles. Replacing the dogbone mount is a good start, but it will not always fix the issue if the motor is hanging too low.
TT225 downpipes now feature an adjustable turbo flange to help with fitment issues related to worn mounts. The adjustment may allow subframe clearance unless the mounts are too worn.
This downpipe is known to fit the following vehicles:
- 1999-2006 Audi TT 225 Quattro
- Included adaptor allows fitment to stock exhaust
- Will fit any cat-back exhaust that reduces to stock diameter
Polyurethane transmission mount inserts are HIGHLY recommended for this application.
