That Was The Short Of It

This promotion is HUGE and our team's fabrication work deserves a lot more than bullet points. I fully expect to be asked why we're offering some of the deepest discounts we've ever offered, so here's the long version...

42 Draft Designs has always offered exhaust systems with a choice of aluminized steel or stainless steel. While stainless is always the better choice for corrosion resistance, our aluminized steel systems meet the needs of budget-minded enthusiasts and those lucky enough to live in a climate free of humidity. In the past few months our specific brand of aluminized tubing has been tough to acquire. We don’t use any-old aluminized tubing. Our tubing is made specifically for mandrel bending and maintains the dimensional tolerances and quality that our bend tooling requires. When those tolerances change even slightly we can’t use it.

I am absolutely sure our mill will figure it out, but until then we’re not going to force an indefinite wait on our customers. The best way for us to handle this situation is to put customers first and build everything in stainless steel for the same price as our aluminized steel systems. Customers won’t have to deal with an indefinite wait, no one has to spend any additional money, and stainless is a superior material. If you are in the market for a stainless system you’re looking at saving an average of 25% on your new exhaust. That’s a big deal.

At this point we can’t say how long this deal will last, so ‘for a limited time’ it is. Once we have a proper bundle of material on our floor we’ll call this a done deal. Until then, take advantage of the savings if you can. I’m sure this will go on for at least a month.

What's In An Upgrade

No matter what system we’re making, production starts with the tubing. 304 stainless steel tubing is loaded on our mandrel bender and bent multiple times to form the shape of the system we’re building. Every system is unique and we always design to use our multi-bend capability and avoid cut-and-weld construction whenever possible.

We use RathGibson 304 stainless tubing for 99% of our systems. RathGibson tubing is certified, consistent, and hands-down the highest quality stainless tubing we have worked with. They have multiple plants on the East Coast, so we’re flying the American flag and working with the best. (and no supplier issues)

When upgraded to stainless steel we use 3/8” thick 304 stainless steel cut on our waterjet. Hanger bar and hangers are made from 304 stainless steel round stock. Sensor bungs are made from 304 stainless steel. Hardware is upgraded to stainless steel with copper coated locking nuts. Anti-seize is included. Mufflers, flex section, and catalytic converters are already stainless steel.

Stainless Steel Photos

It’s no secret that our exhaust system photos leave a lot to be desired. Most systems do not have photos of our stainless steel option represented. There’s a few systems that have photos so old they date back to a 2.1 megapixel camera that wrote to mini CDs. Sony Mavica CD-200

Recently I have been photographing as many systems as I can before they go out the door. With almost 60 systems in our lineup I have a lot to do and a lot to edit. Here’s some examples of some recent photos of our stainless steel exhaust systems. What you see here can be applied to the system of your choice. The materials, build quality, welds, etc. This is what we do and we take it seriously.

If you have any questions about any of our systems, the promotion, or our stainless steel upgrade feel free to contact us. We’re always here to help.
