Boost Gauge Tubing Kits

Installing a boost gauge should be a simple task. Let's keep it that way.

The wrong boost gauge tubing kit can turn an afternoon project into a dramatic disappointment. It's simple really - tubing and fittings. What could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately, plenty.

Since 2002 we have been installing and selling boost gauges and various tubing kits. Over the years we have tested and developed many different solutions using a variety of fittings and tubing. Customer feedback has always been strong, letting us know what works and what doesn't. Throughout the years we've heard it all.

"my boost gauge buzzes"
"my tubing cracked, won't bend, melted, or isn't long enough"
"something's leaking"
"It just won't fit in my pod"

Our tubing kits combine the best of the best at an affordable and competitive price. In the engine bay we're using our proven restrictor T-fitting and inline restrictor to provide a clean signal to the boost gauge. These restrictors create a buffer in the boosted airstream which reduces the rapid pulses known to cause a buzz sound in the gauge movement. Gauge accuracy is unaffected.

At the intake manifold we're using a variety of fittings custom made to tap into impossible scenarios. Our restrictor T-fitting is a simple fitting which taps into existing vacuum line. When vacuum lines are nowhere to be found our miniature brass barb is used to tap into existing plumbing. Our Mk5 boost gauge tap is the most specific tap we use, designed to T into a large PCV tube where no vacuum lines exist.

At the gauge we're using our straight boost gauge fitting and our 90° boost gauge fitting. These fittings are the most compact barb fittings we've ever found, allowing installation in the tightest of gauge pods.

Tying it all together is 8 feet of the toughest and most flexible tubing we've ever used. Made from a high-tech polymer, our new tubing is flexible enough to bend around a quarter, but stiff enough to support itself without kinking or drooping. Our tubing can snake through gauge pods without kinking or crushing, while simultaneously holding tight on our barbed fittings without zip-ties or clamps.

All of our tubing kits include zip ties to secure tubing under the hood and under the dash. Installation instructions are provided with every kit. We currently offer 6 complete kits which vary by gauge fitting (straight or 90°) and connection method.

Which tubing kit is right for me?

If your engine has available vacuum lines:

Our boost gauge tubing kit will be your best bet. It uses a T-fitting to tap into existing vacuum lines. At the gauge you have the choice of a straight fitting or a 90° fitting.

If you drive a TDI or your engine does not have available vacuum lines:

Our TDI boost gauge tubing kit will work. This kit is designed to tap into plastic intercooler plumbing using a miniature brass barb. At the gauge you have the choice of a straight fitting or a 90° fitting.

If you drive a Mk5 FSI/TSI:

Our Mk5 boost gauge tubing kit has been designed specifically for your engine. This kit uses our CNC machined Mk5 Boost Gauge Tap to tap into the plastic intake manifold. At the gauge you have the choice of a straight fitting or a 90° fitting.
